The School of Health – Polytechnic University of Setúbal was created in March 2000 (Diário da República n.º 61/2000, Série I-A de 13/03/2000) and inaugurated on November 6th of that year. Since its inception, it has sought recognition for the quality of its training, research and services to the community. ESS/IPS wants to be a positive reference in the training of health professionals, providing humanistic education, scientific and technical development and ethical and cultural sensitivity.
In its development and consolidation as a Higher Education Institution, it is guided by a culture of continuous quality improvement, enhancing the ability to respond to challenges and change, carrying out research associated with teaching, the health of individuals and populations and professional practices, and establishing national and international partnerships.
