Message from the Dean
Dear applicants, students and partner institutions, welcome to the Health School of the Polytechnic University of Setúbal (ESS/IPS).
We are a benchmark institution in Higher Education in Portugal. We offer training in a diverse range of health fields and have made a name for ourselves over the years through high levels of demand for our courses, their recognized academic success, high student satisfaction and a graduate employability rate close to 100%, which we are very proud of.
Our scientific activity has been recognized for obtaining funding in national and international projects and for the publication of its results in specialized scientific journals, actively contributing to the production of knowledge, its transfer and the respective improvement of health practices.
At ESS/IPS, we promote student-centered teaching/learning processes. We are focused on training and constantly updating health professionals who want to be competent, critical and socially committed. We believe that the interconnection between learning and the research carried out; learning and the inspired and consolidated relationship with partners from different institutions; and learning and the opportunities for internationalization, are determining factors for the training we offer and the dynamics experienced at the school.
Students will find a highly qualified teaching team committed to ensuring close, personalized and demanding support, geared towards academic and professional success. They also have a team of non-teaching staff who ensure, with competence and dedication, all the essential conditions for the regularity of academic life.
