Mission/Goals

We live in a highly globalised world, characterised by multicultural and dynamic societies with extremely high levels of mobility. Current evidence suggests that skills such as communication, empathy and creativity, amongst others, are developed most effectively in international settings.

The School of Health Sciences of the Polytechnic University of Setúbal (ESS/IPS) is responsible for providing opportunities to develop the skills mentioned above, preparing its students for the challenges of today’s world. Internationalisation is therefore a priority for ESS/IPS in fulfilling its mission.
Sharing knowledge and experiences with other cultures in the fields of education, research and clinical practice is not only a natural outcome of internationalisation, but also contributes to the institution’s objectives. In the field of health, it is essential to understand people, cultures and contexts.

Internationalisation opens the door to unique experiences that challenge the way we learn and view the world. At ESS/IPS, you can take part in short courses (BIP), long-term mobility programmes, international activities under the E3UDRES2 scheme, and other initiatives.

If you are studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, you also have the opportunity to obtain a double degree with Arteveldehogeschool in Belgium.

Every international experience is an opportunity to grow, enrich your journey and prepare yourself for a more global future.

Explore the world, broaden your horizons!
