The seminar “Empowered Nurses Save Lives”, organized by the Nursing Department of the School of Health of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, will be held on May 12 at 10am in the IPS Noble Auditorium as part of the International Nurses’ Day celebrations.
“Empowered Nurses Save Lives” is the motto chosen this year by the International Council of Nurses (ICN) to mark this date, underlining the importance of recognizing, valuing and strengthening the role of nurses in health systems.
With this motto, the ICN wants to reinforce the message that empowering nurses is essential to ensure safe, fair and sustainable working environments, but also to enable them to exercise their profession to the full, with autonomy, influence and leadership.
This topic is particularly relevant in a global context marked by growing challenges, such as the shortage of health professionals, the increase in care needs, the effects of conflicts and the impact of climate change on people’s health.
ESS/IPS is thus joining in this international reflection, promoting a moment of debate and appreciation of Nursing as a central profession in responding to contemporary health challenges.
