Learning objectives and skills to be developed

To deepen clinical knowledge regarding pediatric age groups within emergency and intensive care contexts.
To train students in the immediate recognition of and intervention for life-threatening conditions, including neonatal, medical, surgical, and psychiatric emergencies.
To apply knowledge to improve the care provided to critically ill children.
To recognize the importance of communication among the multidisciplinary team and the child, young person, and primary caregivers when delivering specialized care.
To engage students in simulation scenarios covering pediatric nursing care, team training, process refinement, equipment handling, breaking bad news, and communication exercises.
To perform in a simulated pediatric advanced life support setting.
