Learning objectives and skills to be developed

A the end of the course, the student will:
- Analyze theories and conceptual models with implications for medical-surgical nursing, critically ill patients and/or those with organ failure;
- Recognize the importance of theories and conceptual models in diagnostic assessment and nursing intervention;
- Analyze the Quality Standards for Specialized Nursing Care for Critically Ill Patients from the Order of Nurses;
- Identify the differences in the various classifications of nursing interventions and outcomes, CIPE, NIC and NOC;
- Develop clinical reasoning in diagnostic assessment, in the formulation of interventions and in the evaluation of outcomes for critically ill patients;
- Recognize the different care contexts and the management of intervention priorities for critically ill patients/families with organ failure.
