Nursing students promote a morning of health and happiness with children from the Luísa Todi School in Setúbal

On October 29th, the 3rd year students of the Nursing Degree Course at The School of Health/Polytechnic University of Setúbal (ESS/IPS), under the guidance of Professor Mónica Costa, organized a very special activity for the pre-school children of the Luísa Todi School Group.

The main aim of the initiative was to develop communication skills with children and promote health education in a playful and interactive way.

Throughout the morning, ESS/IPS students involved the children in various educational and fun activities, addressing topics that are essential for their well-being and healthy growth.

The sessions included demonstrations on proper hand washing, healthy lifestyle habits, safety basics and even a “doll hospital”, prepared to demystify the fear of white coats. This creative approach allowed the children to gain confidence and learn more about healthcare in a positive and relaxed way.

The activity also enjoyed the support and collaboration of the school’s teachers, who accompanied the children and took an active part in the dynamics.

It was a morning full of learning, smiles and sharing, in which the students put their knowledge into practice and strengthened their relational and pedagogical skills, contributing to the promotion of health among young people.
